Ray Manzarek appeared on CNN Headline News tonight in a 3 minute interview segment with the ravishing Alisha Davis.
Previous to the live from LA piece, CNN showed a video clip of Val Kilmer doing the Ian,., 'scuse me,., Jim ,., from Oliver Stone's killer movie "The
Doors".
"Break On Through" played over the clip.
First question was about "Morrison-less Doors".
Ray said, "We wish Jim was here with us,., he'd be on this tour with us, but Jim's not here."
Ray then used all the right adjectives and adverbs about Ian Astbury "from The Cult". "Strong" "Dynamic" "Buddhist and Native American influences"
"Shamanistic qualities"
Ms. Davis asked what songs were being performed on this tour. Ray responded that The Doors' catalog of songs is "between 65 & 70", and named several:
Break On Through, Peace Frog,.,.,
The real news here is that Ray-Ray spoke of upcoming plans, including, "In honor of Jim's 60th birthday" a concert video will be shot in August of The
(21st Century) Doors performing the 'L.A. Woman' album, Live,., and in sequence.
The MadMan figures that the taped show will be at Red Rocks, which happens to be in Morrison, Colorado, on August 30th,.,.,
That would be cool,.,.
Ray said that the new record will be out in 2004, and will include music by Manzarek & Kreiger,.,. and words by Ian Astbury, Michael Mc Clure, Jim
Carroll and Henry Rollins.
Also mentioned was that all of the lawsuits that had been swirling around the group have been settled.

Yeah,.,., but the Politically Correct thing to would be the novelty of filming in a place called "Morrison".
Ian spontaneously breaking into, "Ashes and ghosts are all around me,.," at the point where he's supposed to sing "Get up stand up,.,"
