Hulk?
... anybody here seen this movie yet? I'm trying to decide if I should bother to see this one now or wait a few months until it's on video or cable
...
I used to like the original show when it was on, and I realise that it's based on a comic book caracter, but this
doesn't look very believable ...

looks like shit to me too
but then...
so did Spiderman before i actually watched it...
From Velvet night came forth our torch burns eternal,
For time is but a dream and our mischeif be infernal,
Black Angels watch over neglecting the living but not the undead,
Blessed are the hallowed and gracious for their blood shall keep us fed,
Hark the electric thunder drawn like moths to a flame,
To a place of wicked wonder...and Hollywood be thy name.

With spider I guess it was easier for them to disguise the digital nature of it, but that hulk under the sunlight is too much of a digital thing ...it
seems too much fake.

x-men!
hulk? i dont think so, looks lame and trite.
spiderman, yeah loved it.
BUT
x-men 2 was without a doubt the best sequel ever. bar none. the first xmen rocked, but goddamn x-2 kicked ass. if they made it r-rated it would have
been the shit to end all shit comic book wise.
be honest!
who can hold a candle to wolverine killing a dozen dudes in like 2 minutes while the mansion is being invaded! that alone is THE kick ass scene in any
movie this year.
now lets just see if lord of the rings can match up this winter. i have a feeling that return of the king will be a major force in the already fine
line of films from peter jackson.
all hail x-men and lord of the rings, films with substance and heart!
when kids ask me how does santa clause live forever, i tell them "it's because he drinks blood".
if life deals you lemons, why not go kill someone with the lemons(maybe by shoving them down his throat).

Oh Hulk is not well animated!!
Spiderman was great, but not only of the animations, the storybook was nice and i liked it a lot, and the soundtrack too...
My opinion: Save your money and wait for another movie!!!
By the way - now they wanna shoot a movie about Garfield, but not as cartoon, as realistic. People, what will come as next then???
a) Remake of Superman or one more Batman-movie??
b) the peanuts in real????
c) A real soup-docu about southpark???
or d) Muppet-Show with real animals????
I hope nothing of em ehehehe...
Stay root, stay rebel!! :D

random thoughts about lame movie ideas:
I've got bad news for you there Magic, but they ARE trying to remake the "Superman" series ... not just the first one THE ENTIRE SERIES starting over
from square one - but they can't find anyone willing to play that caracter again because:
Kirk Alyn (the first guy to play Superman in the 1940's) was permanently typecast as Superman, could never get another acting job, spent the rest of
his life in poverty and died ...
next: George Reeves (Superman on tv in the 1950's) died mysteriously of a gunshot wound ...
then: Chris Reeve (the movie Superman) broke his neck in the mid 1990's and is now paralized ...
actors are staying away from it because of that, but for $ome $trange rea$on the producer$ $till want to remake the $uperman $erie$ ...
as far as "Garfield": real actors with cartoon animation for Garfield, and Bill (what the hell has this guy been doing for the last decade) Murray as
Garfield's voice ...
as far as "South park" ... well, keep your voice down, don't give them any more bad ideas ... I HATE THIS SHOW ...
and the 1989 verion of "Batman": that movie was a box office smash, but have you ever met anyone that says they liked it?

Know what you mean...
Superman's remake - it seems it's in progress
Garfield - surely the idea came after the scooby-doo movie ...
ANYTHING is possible , I just saw a tv ad for a film called Cangoroo Jack, about a talking cangoroo that sings rap, so ... :o :P :D

MY POOR GARFIELD!!!
I love Garfield the comic, the cartoons, the dolls on the windows, i love garfield posters and the garfield condoms in extra large with lasagne-taste,
but ANIMATED???
Tell me ppl, is it not silly to animate now all and everything???
Its pretty difficult to make good movies when the comics did ruled before... look at Spawn (if anyone knows) the movie was a shit, the effects cool,
but i won´t see a movie coz of the special effects only... maybe i want too much ehehehe...
May Hulk looks more now like the comic, but even the comic I didn´t liked much... When animated and comic heroes, why not the fantastic four??
Or Thor?

fucking garfield?
homer, are you serious? bill murray as the voice of garfield? thats fucked!
the one and only voice garfield could ever have is the voice of comedian STEVEN WRIGHT! his dead pan voice is the perfect garfield, and hey i bet
they could get him much cheaper than bill.
as far as the fantastic four being made into a movie, its been done already. roger corman famous for his fucked up "B" movies did it and word is it
sucked soooooooooooo bad it will never see the light of day.
im sticking with x-men fammke jansen and halle berry in tight black leather, ya just cant go wrong there.
when kids ask me how does santa clause live forever, i tell them "it's because he drinks blood".

this from IMDb:
Garfield slated for release 4 June 2004,
the cast (so far) is:
Breckin Meyer ... as Jon Arbuckle
Bill Murray ... as the voice of Garfield
Jennifer Love Hewitt ... Dr. Liz Wilson (Jon's love interest) ...
it's said to be live action with CGI effects for Garfield and Odie (yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwn) like "Roger Rabbit" movie back around 1988 or
'89, like the Scooby Do(n't) movies, like the Hulk, like anyone of a number of other forgettable movies Hollywood has churned out in the last 20 or 25
years ... and isn't the cast a little too young also?
and I'll go along with you on Famke, but you can keep Halle ...

Undies???
Can anyone explain how when Bruce Banner undergoes his transformation into the "Hulk", all articles of clothing are ripped apart unable to contain his
giant body, yet he still manages to keep his underpants on? And where is his "bait & tackle" stored? :puzzled:
I have seen more "form" in the nappy of a newborn. Or is that part of the affliction? Kinda like a mushroom, all head and no stalk? :o

Well That Makes Sense......
Thank you Homer! I am now somewhat "initiated". Now I know it was gamma
radiation that plugged him and his undies I will sleep better tonight! :D
I am a "virgin" when it comes to all these superpower/-human type films. From what I have seen in the advertisements, I have to agree with you, the
"Hulk" does not look very believable. The animation is too obvious, but if one is into that type of genre, I guess it is a bit of "escapism" for a
couple of hours.

and it's criminally overlong also ...
a couple of hours and the ever important 18 minutes ... I've heard you don't even see the Hulk until 45 minutes into the movie ...
"Dr. David (not Bruce) Banner. Physician. Scientist. Searching for a way to tap into the hidden strenghts that all humans have. Then, an accidental
overdose of gamma radiation alters his body chemistry ..."
why do I remember crap like that ???

See I told you I was a "virgin"!
Don't even know the characters name 8)
It is amazing what the subconscious holds in it's memory banks. I can remember cheezy lines from movies, but when it comes to quoting my Tax File
Number I am befuddled! :puzzled:
P.S. How are you by the way Homer?

what more useless crap does my subconscious hold in it's memory banks?
The lead caracter (sp?) in "the Hulk" tv series was "David Bruce Banner", played by Bill Bixby who sadly died of cancer in the mid 1990's, but for
some reason was changed to Bruce Banner for the movie,
6'8" tall Ted Cassidy - "Lurch" from the original tv series "The Addams Family" - did the (uncredited) introductory narration on "The Hulk" tv series
that I quoted earlier,
Ted Cassidy also played "The Thing" (that hand that came up out of a box) on the Addams Family tv show,
Lou Ferrigno played the Hulk in the original television series - the movie Hulk is 15 feet tall, Lou Ferrigno is 6'5"
Abe Lincoln was the tallest US president at 6'4"
there is no word in the English language that rhymes with the word "month"
Walt Disney hated mice
the telephone area code for Antarctica is 672
Turkey is the only country that is on 2 different continents
"From Russia with Love" is the only James Bond movie that does not use the line "My name is Bond ... James Bond"
I remember crap like that but I forget to return a phone call from 2 days ago ...
and how am I doing, well ... this pretty much explains it:

song. my kid is fucking brilliant

Covering a mass aray of topics.
'89 Batman - I liked it.
Spawn - Check out the dvd collection of the HBO series for the interviews with Todd. Explains the reasons for the way the first movie was done.
Second one (script is done) is set to be darker.
X-Men has been great.
Look for this --> http://www.ladydeaththemovie.com/
and this one --> http://www.batinthesun.com/
Spider-Man is the best Super Hero movie to date.
Daredevil was ok. (Hulk was better)
I saw the Hulk and like it alot. Best movie ever? No, but enjoyable none the less. Here's why I lilked it and I think many others didn't.
I go to see movies to "get away from life for awhile". I try not to pick out all the "it doesn't look real flaws". I watched the movie like I used
to watch the tv series, "with the eyes of a child". I didn't get how the Hulk could beat people up and not kill any one, but I didn't care either.
For me it was better then watching "Dallas" back then.
But the movie did give Lou a cameo. Tried to present a little like a comic (with the way it was shot). And a least made a good attempt to tell a
story. The "dreamy" parts should have been skipped.
I look at the way they do comics. When movies are done from books, everybody bitches that they are never exactly like the book. But with comic (for
those of you reading this, who done read those) books there are different titles for one hero. 4-6 different Spider-man, 5-7 different Batman and so
on. Doing a movie like this is just another title for the hero. I like they way the transformations went. Besides how many people have you seen
get so pissed off that they turned green and grew to 15 feet tall?? Do you think they would look "real"? How about the showing of "the feeling of
all out RAGE"? No one's every felt like that?
I personally would prefer a totally animated movie over a "mix" of computer with live actors, But I'll watch these as they come out. I think if more
people would watch movies like this with a more of a "let yourself go" attitude, they could appreciate these and many other movies more.
Lara Croft?????? Does she follow the game step for step???
Be a kid again....... (everyone's so busy protecting them, might as well be one)
:flame::angel:
See ya in space cowboy.....

bobbing around for 90 minutes:o

Yeah Kill I agree, those films shouldnt been that "real"!!!
Thats why we love comic heroes coz they aren´t that realistic, but me mind more the storyboard of all... some cartoons are not made to get an
realistic-movie and should keep as cartoon, like Scooby Doo or Garfield.... I mean with "real" that they are not more cartoons... u know what I
mean???
And the movies nowadays are coz of the special effects better than other ones... lets remember the Hulk series with Lou Ferrignon as Hulk - LOL - but
as kid i like it ehehehe... or Batman the serial, LOOOOOL very hippy... or the 70-80er movies of Superman and Spiderman ehehehe....
And Matrix for example, the Wachowski-Bros gave Warner the storybook, and Warner said no thanks, coz they didn´t understood how it should work, so
they let they story made by drawers as cartoon and gave self storybook as cartoon to Warner again - and Warner said, yeah great idea... sometimes we
must get the visuall things to understand the fantasy of others...
Hope that anyone make a cool movie about Thor, about Spawn a better new second movie. But Lara Croft is not that powerful and interesting, me still
prefer Indiana Jones...
Anyone here like Star Wars too? Coz I must say that Yoda as CG-character sucks and looks pretty weird, the muppet in Epi. V and VI was much better....
