direct from the horses mouth via a Doors show meet & greet and a lil friend who don't post so much anymore... ...
our Lord Ian was asked yesterday (monday) about the Cult and a return..
the answer was NO...
seriously now friends...this isn't a joke...

i am not one for speculation...but if a guy with as much respect for his fans as Ian has says NO...then i'd recomend that ya all just get used to
it...
i can't quote the exact word's that Ian replyed with as i wasn't there...but the general idea was a big no way...won't happen...not in my life

I appreciate the source but Ian's probably wanting folks to focus on what he's doing now instead of what could be in the future. If I were Robby or
Ray and heard Ian talking about future Cult projects, I'd question his committment to what he's doing with the new Doors. Just a thought/theory,
that's all.

OH WELL!
I say we cherish the shows we saw!!! On June 29th it will be the 2nd aniversary of my first show and the beginning of a lot of friendships...so in a
way...the shows and experiences live on! We all have photos and meeting up with people even if there is no show. I met up with Shawn when I went to
Daytona and had a great time!!! I like to think I've made some really good friends and I know I will always have a good time when I meet them!
PS - Shawn if you read this i am thinking of coming down to Disney for winter break!

hey, hold on. I'd be super bummed if Ian said he wasn't going to make any more music! That would be worth banging your head up
against the wall, but music is such a part of him that I just don't see that happening.
We're just going to have to wait & see what the future holds. Say....whatever happened to Ian's website that was going to go online?

I wouldn't worry too much.
Ian tends to throw himself into whatever he's currently into and focus on that exclusively.
When he and Billy were on Rockline last September to promote the DVD, he was asked about his involvement with The Doors and he was very distant about
it to say the least.
I'm guessing he's treating The Cult in the same manor while he's fronting The Doors...

Actually...Ian said "screw the Cult" and said some rather nasty things about Duffy...He said we won't believe what he's doing next. However, I also
heard that he told a fan the Cult would be back...I guess he better patch things up with Duffy...I really wasn't surprised, those two always seem to
fight and make up...I think with the Cult, there are never definites....

FIRST : The point of Ray and Robbie disliking Ian talking about reform The Cult is valid, they would give him some pression on his commitment with the
Doors project right now. Ian is being well received after all and is enjoying the moment and he needs the money.
SECOND : Ian and Billy punch each other in the face then give each other kisses, it was always this way. It will never change. It doesn't mean they
will not be back.
THIRD : Our friend Ian is well known to be controversial and impulsive, maybe he was having a bad moment (maybe Billy gave him some shit via phone
about reforming the band and stopping with this Doors thing...who can really tell ...) and said that "fuck the Cult" thing on the flavor of the
moment.
FOURTH : If (and that is IF) he really meant it, well, he should know better, if it wasn't The Cult there wouldn't be any IAN in the first place. It
was the music and the lyrics he created with The Cult that got him a decent position in the rock and roll scene, to say "fuck the Cult" to a fan of
this band is so low life that it doesn't even deserves to be commented...I assure you all, I LOVE this band and its music, I'm not in love with Ian
Astbury, I respect him as the creative force that he is, BUT, if his attittude is confirmed, the world RESPECT will not be apllied to him anymore by
me.
FIFTH : if THE CULT is over , the least that Ian and Billy can do would be an official statement SAYING that it is over, of course that this kind of
attention never really was among their preocupations.
