About Ians solo project
when was it finally released-was it in 2000? and what kind of promotion did it get?
did IAN go and tour for it in any way?
it didn't seem to have any commercial promotion at all it seems.

a cult album?
I was just listening to Spirit, Light, Speed tonight and wondering again if this could or was a album for The Cult. Like Billy didnt want it or some
other reason. I hear it as it could have easily been a Cult album.

NO WAY....
Spirit/Light/Speed is quited definatly NOT a Cult album that Billy didn't want to do...
it's as much a solo thing as the Holy Barbarians and Coloursound albums are...if not more so as it was almost all IAN...his musical influences are so
present there...it almost takes you to a more indie dance place than a rock place
Release date for S/L/S i haven't a clue...but then i don't really care for dates and shit like that...
NO TOUR...Ian was just winding up Holy Barbs when he and Billy decided to get up and jam with Neurotic Outsiders in April 99...The Cult then did the
Rising tour in the fall of 99 in the US...and the S/L/S project was left to fend for it's self...
if i'm not mistaken S/L/S was also the last thing Beggars Banquet released in the UK for Ian/The Cult that was a "new recording"...the record deal
that The Cult had with Beggars was already in shreads before they regrouped in April 99...hence the Rising tour...and the eventual Atlantic deal...
in a round about way...that means No promotion for S/L/S what so ever...
From Velvet night came forth our torch burns eternal,
For time is but a dream and our mischeif be infernal,
Black Angels watch over neglecting the living but not the undead,
Blessed are the hallowed and gracious for their blood shall keep us fed,
Hark the electric thunder drawn like moths to a flame,
To a place of wicked wonder...and Hollywood be thy name.
