the film which you're refefing to is an Italian movie called, just simply "Demoni/ Demons". It came out in Italy in 1985, "Demoni 2/ Demons 2" had The
Cult on the soundtrack. It came out in Italy in 1986 and in the US in 1987. "(Here comes the) Rain" is played in the movie during some kind of party
sequence - I think - and during the end credits we hear the original version of "Rain". There was a soundtrack cd & album released but apparently only
in Japan, copies of it turn up on ebay once in a while, selling for sometimes as much as $90 (!?!). "Demons" is actually a LENGHTY Euro/ splatter
series, mostly from Germany and Italy. If you liked that movie, the entire series (so far) is:
"Demoni (Demons)" (1985)
"Demoni 2 (Demons 2)" (1986)
"The Ogre: Demons 3" (1986 Italian tv movie, the filmmakers were sued over the title, it has nothing to do with the rest of the series)
"Demoni 3/ Demon Cathedral/ The Church"/ Cathedral of Demons/ In the Land of the Demons/ Demons 4" (1989)
"La Setta/ The Sect/ Devil's Daughter/ Demons 4/ Demons 5" (1989 also)
"La Mashera del demoni/ Black Sabbath/ Demons 5/ Demons 6" (1989 also)
"Demons 6/ Black Cat/ Il Gatto Nero/ Demons 7" (1989 also)
"Black Demons/ Black Zombies/ Demoni 8" (1991)
"of love of death/ of death and love/ Demons 9" (1994)
"Demons 1995 (1994 also)
"Dellamorte Dellamore/ Demons 10" (1994)
"Cemetary Man/ Dellamote Dellamore reiisue/ Demoni 11" (1996)
see what I mean about it being a LENGTHY series?

I remember that movie. I've looked for it at the video store from time to time, but nothing....Is it banned now I wonder.
Agh, the nails..*shudders*
The mask thingy is in the foyer right, and one guy tries it on and nicks himself, and then all hell and mayhem breaks out after they are seated. I
think there was some scene in the bathroom too...
it's been a long long time.
Demons2, I think they were trapped in a highrise?

Libertine, you are correct. In "Demoni (Demons)" people are chosen at random to go to an art deco movie theatre opening in Berlin. A girl cuts her
face on, as you phrased it, that "mask thingy" in the lobby, then later on the girl is changed into a drooling fanged demon creature from hell type of
"thingy" :D She attacks the moviegoers, infecting them all one by one, turning them into the title creature.
In "Demoni 2 (Demons 2)", people in a high rise apartment building watching a television documentary about the events in part one are turned into more
demons, and then run around the building killing people. I don't have enough room on this website to rehash the plot of all of the seemingly never
ending series of eleven sequels, plus I'm not bored enough to do that here either ... This is the one with The Cult on the soundtrack, not
the first one. These movies have not been banned but they are - especially the sequels - difficult to find at you average "Blockbuster Video", try
looking at a smaller Mom and Pop kind of video store. Or if you really want to see them that badly, I've got a few of them on video I could
make a copy of them in trade if you like, but they're really nothing to write home about ...

11 sequels! Looks like "jason jason jason, kill kill kill" has some catching up to do. heh heh
okay, Demons2 has The Cult...
I don't have to be bored to talk horror movies, I love them and the Demons 1 and 2 are particularly gross, high gore *scream* theme. I went surfing
around and there is a Japanese site that has animated avatars from Demons1. But too gross for a message board.
I'll keep looking for the movies at the smaller shops.

First of all, Jason doesn't have much catching up to do: the eleventh Friday the 13th movie is coming out later this year, "Jason vs. Freddy" (I like
the Friday the 13th movies [except part 4], but this one sounds kind of childish and a little silly to be honest with you ... ) so that will make
"Fr. the 13th" and "Demons" even, with eleven each (so far).
You can just walk into a video store, go to the horror section, look under "F" and find the Friday the 13th movies, you can't do that with "Demons"
because they're all out under various different names, and some of them have been re edited/ re titled/ and re released, so you may want to take the
above list of alternate titles if you go searching for them ...
.. and "The Church" (the 1991 re edit/ re issue") and "Cemetary Man" from 1996 are probably the better sequels ...

I own Demons 2, a great flick. Only the first 2 Demons movies have anything to do with the original story. The Church takes place in a medieval
castle (or church, I suppose). Cemetery Man is the best movie I've ever seen in my life, but has absolutely nothing to do with any of the other
movies. I wouldn't even consider it a horror movie.

Two thumbs up for Cemetary Man. Hmmm must make a note..
Friday the 13th has almost 11 sequels? I'm stunned. After the 2nd I'd had enough and they all blended, kind of like the Halloween, Elm Street thing. I
enjoy a freshly dug plot rather than an exhumed story line.
"Jason vs Freddy"? as in Kruger? Oh gawd, say it isn't so!
Slasher meets Slicer
Um, back to The Cult :flip:
