Andie, in next letter I'll also send to you another great Finnish band's record - Charon! That's better than HIM and 69 Eyes together, I think.

LA Guns...now don't ya just know it...i travelled over 150 miles each way to see these guys in a small club outside Birmingham...and they were
excellent!! many thanx to Nyein for the driving from London...XXX...
Enuf'Z'nuff (or whatever) were the support band and while they were tight and very together...i still think that they couldn't write a decent song to
save themselves...towards the end of their set they threw in a cover version of Jean Genie (Bowie) and i started to get into them a little more...once
they were done the bar started to get busy while we waited for LA Guns to come on...
the venue was really busy...and as there was no back stage area...the bands had to make their way to the stage through the crowd...not a problem for
the rejuvenated Phil Leiws and crew...(no Tracii...)...Brent Muscat from Faster Pussycat was in and with him was Keri Kelli (once in Slash's
Snakepit)...boy can those two play...it was fuckin amazing to watch the two different styles on these guys...Adam Hamilton on Bass and Steve Riley on
drums filled out the back line to perfection!!
the set list was a really good mix of the old and the new...personal faves of mine like One Good Reason and Electric Gypsy were truely thrashed
out...while songs from the new album (Waking The Dead) are much more rock'n'roll and back to the first album in style!!...
the band didn't do any encores they just played their set and then hit the crowd for some beer, cigs, signing autographs and chatting...i thought it
was really good for them to be able to come down and be one of us mortals again...and they were realy nice blokes...Adam and Keri hadn't been to
Scotland before (they're playing Glasgow tonight...Sunday)...and they were really curious about my accent...Phil and Brent were checking out the
girls...Phil left first with two girls...then Brent left with his two choices...finally Adam was out of there with his two...
Nyein and i waited out side and chatted to some of the LA Guns Boardies who had come over from Europe to see them...all the time behind us the tour
bus was rock'n and roll'n with a very pissed off sound man walking around outside cursing under his breath...LOL...the guy really didn't approve of
this kinda thing...
i finally returned to my bed at 05:30 AM on Saturday morning...and spent the rest of the day pukeing my guts up...
next week it's the SISTERS...can't wait!!

FULL ON FRIDAY
One hell of a long day started with me collecting a dude called Freek from the airport at 1:30pm...he'd flown in from Amsterdam to see the Guns...on
crutches!!...drove into London to sort out his accommodation at the Camden Inn hostel (parked illegally...£50.00 fine!!) and then proceeded to get
lost trying to find my way to my friend Nyien's flat...being a man i didn't even think of asking directions...(i drive by the seat of my pants...i
just go thata-way!) eventually i remembered that i had an AtoZ London map in the glove compartment and we figured we were in west London...not north
London...about 10 miles out!!...with much speeding and ducking and diving between other cars we made it across to Nyien's just as she arrived home
from work...PHEW!!...
London to Birmingham is around 121 miles?...during Friday rush-hour traffic it feels like 221 miles...and it's the slowest thing in the world to be
traveling on a motorway at 20 miles per hour!!...we were driving in Nyien's small jeep...i was in the back!!...a 2 and 1/2 hour journey turned into a
3 and 1/2 hour nightmare as we got lost trying to go around Birmingham...but we eventually got to the venue...you'd never have guessed that this place
was where we were looking for it...except for the big hand written sign saying LA GUNS and an arrow pointing thisaway!!...we passed by it first time
and had to go around again to get there!...
Being on the guest list (Phil's guest list) was a treat...we had arrived and moved in on the bar...Enuf'z'nuff were doing their thing...badly!!...i
slipped off and bought an LA Guns shirt...then returned with a fat grin on my face as the local rock chicks (sluts) were in full on vamp gear with
their tits way up and forward...there was even some guys who seemed to be in a 1988 time warp...they looked just like Andy Macoy and Nasty Suicide
from Hanoi Rocks...even down to the leather effect black cowboy hat!!...i had to laugh at them...sad fucks!!...Nyein had been to see the Guns on every
show they had played that week...which is why we got in on the guest list...so she was off chatting to the tour manager Mike about where Phil
was...turns out that the whole band were chillin’ in the hotel before the show...bummer!!
Enuf'z'nuff finished off with Jean Genie and departed to the bar...no back stage area here!!...and i went to find a safe vantage point to see the Guns
play...just in front of the light desk usually does for me...Nyein comes over with some other LA Gun boardies who had come over to the UK from Germany
for the 3 days Friday to Sunday shows...i tried to talk with them a little but they just dumped their stuff and fucked of to stage front!!...nice
touch!!
LA Guns dragged their sorry asses through the crowd about 10:00pm and they must have been trying to look all beat up and down so no one would block
their way to the stage...Keri came on first with Brent and Adam following along...Steve Riley disappeared behind the drums and counted them in...i'll
say this...Keri can sure play a mean guitar!!...they crashed into Never Enough like a freight train...and didn't look back...by the end of the first
song i was lost...i know almost all of their back cat...just a few tracks from the new material i was unsure about...but they did a flat out rock
set...slowing down only twice for Ballad Of Jayne and a song Phil wrote in the UK while the Guns were all fucked up called Beautiful...all the greats
were there...One More Reason, Electric Gypsy, Rip & Tear...with Brent and Keri having a blast, smiling all the way through...
after they finished Rip & Tear Phil told everyone that they weren't able to do an encore but they'd be in the crowd to say Hi and thanx...sign a few
autographs and what have you...Brent was down first...he made a beeline towards two girls who were in front of him all night...then Phil followed and
did the same (who says married men don't!!)...i remember one of the guys from Enuf saying that they'd won tonight...i though who?...Enuf or LA
Guns?...he said WE!...i guessed he'd meant Enuf...and i said how so?...with a smile he said...we were tight together tonight...we had no pauses
between the songs and...the guys here really dug us!...i nodded...u know how you do when u don't want to offend someone?...yeah...like that!!...he
staggered off to sign some shit...
Nyein asked if i had anything i wanted signed...so i took off the LA Guns shirt and said yep!!...offered her the shirt and looked at her...she threw
it back at me and said NO...so i said...OK then...How about my cock?!?!...(i thought it was funny...sheesh!! ) ...i decided to step back and finish my
beer...lit up a smoke and tried to look as cool as fuck...failed!!... I’m the only dude there with a Sex Pistols shirt on (get it?..) and i get fuck
all attention from everyone...must have been my now horse Scottish accent...the spiky hair...and the attitude i was throwing at everyone...not very
rock'n'roll!!! Bastards!!!
just before we decide to split i went over to talk to Brent...i wanted to know about the Pussycats tour...the bastard!! he had already fucked off with
the two girls...jeees...fast worker!!...Phil, i then see slinking off to the back door with another two girls in tow...damn that tour bus is gonna be
rockin!!...i chat with Keri and tell him how fuckin amazing he is...like he's never heard that before...I DON'T THINK SO!!...i actually ask him if
he's ever been to Scotland before...we were standing at the now closed bar...it's 12:15 and I’m still thirsty!...i explained to him about the late
drinking laws in Scotland (bars close at 2:00)...he looks at me weird like and says...isn't Scotland in England??!!....yep!!...it is!!...I’m
sorry...i fucked up again!!...i then grabbed Adam and said thanx for a fuckin excellent show...and left in a full on cream puff!...

Nyein had parked behind the tour bus...my idea...block them in until we leave!!...and was chatting to the other LA Guns boardies from Germany...oh
great i thought! ...another chance for me to shine!!...to late...Adam came up from behind me with...yep...u guessed it...two girls and he was headed
for the tour bus...i just couldn't resist...i had to...it's in my blood!!...i was in full swing as the sound man (Jay) came past with a furious look
on his face...he slammed into the bus...and then about a minute later he slammed back out again...i guess the soundman didn't score...and the guys
weren't sharing!!
we hung around for a couple or so minutes (felt like 30 in the cold night air) and then we made tracks for London...again getting lost until i took
over reading the map and giving directions...we made good time back to London...i don't remember much as i crashed out in the back of the car...i
awoke to find that we were almost back to where i had left my car...what a relief...i wanted to sleep then...sleep like the dead...i said my
goodnights etc...and crawled into my car...turned the engine on...turned up the heater...drove about 50 feet and parked up again...rummaged in the
boot for a couple of warm jackets and tried to catch some ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzd's...35 minutes later...shivering...i decided to drive the 85 miles
home...i crawled into my bed at around 5:30...cold and tired...i snuggled up next to Sharon...she wasn't impressed!!...and died!!
an after thought...
i am definitely too fuckin old for this kinda shit nowadays...i spent all day Saturday talking to god on the great white
telephone...(translation...throwing up down the toilet)...i finally felt strong enough to eat some chocolate at about 6:00pm...i did however loose
about 5 lb's in weight!...some consolation prize!
well...that’s my details...i even managed to mention my cock as well!!...
