There are millions of bands who have had blurbs in one rag or another that could reasonably be described as obscure — especially ten years after the
blurb ran.
Anyway, the point wasn't to congratulate Mike on finding a really obscure band, and to therefore encourage more people to "dig deep" to find more
obscure bands. I was just scrolling down the page, the name caught my eye, and I remember what a fun act they were to see. That was all! I never said
I wanted to bathe in their sweaty clothes or anything...
Can people around here take themselves (and the music they listen to) a little more seriously? Just curious...

Greetings, MD! Saw drivin' & cryin' yesterday at Music Midtown from the very same patch of earth where our gang saw The
Cult close Satruday night's festivities 2 years ago. A very similar, beautiful spring evening. Collective Soul (another Atlantic cast-out) closed
Saturday night this year, and Def Leppard closed last night with a helluva gig. Phil Collen has certainly improved his skills with age!

I'm as jealous as I can be, EG. That's a great festival, and I hope I can make down again someday. I wish I could have seen Drivin' N Cryin' ("Fly Me
Courageous" was a favorite in college), as well as Kings X and Live. Another appearance by The Cult would certainly do the trick!

this one band OURS i have posted about before. they're really good-i have Distorted Lullabies-very impassioned stuff-they are like a cross between U2
and Sisters of Mercy. dark yet beautiful melodies.

Yes Doggie, I follow you.
I like a lot of old bands, but elitist I am not. My exposure to new bands consists of what I get here and what’s on music tv. And to be honest, I
really don’t like much of whats on tv, I think it’s crap. That’s why I live in the past…..I think the 80’s produced some of the best
bands/music ever, and it all came from England. You know what I’m talking about. You dearie, got to see it happen in person. Show me new stuff
that’s just as good, and I’d consider it, otherwise, I’ll just stick to my sad old tired/dead goth bands.
In closing, I wouldn’t mind escaping though with Romeo to the Garden of Delight, but please no Premature Ejaculation, or Jesus Complex, I want to
feel Black Heaven on my skin!

but i has to say that there are some cool new bands out there who deserve a listen...even just once... :angel:

Thanks for the recommendations. I like the sound, but some of the lyrics just make me laugh. I mean who can take Necromancy seriously? Well, I
can’t, it just makes me smile. And for christs sake, you want me to listen to a god damn cd with a snake on it??? GRRRR, sorry… (Love
Alchemy)..can’t tolerate those creatures.
Oh, and it’s nice that you know how to practice the Art of Subtlety when it come to women. Most people I find don't know how to do that.

Gotta agree here! There isn't much good new Rock n' Roll that has come along in the last 8 years or so! It's all watered down, unintelligent, and
generic. I haven't felt music that inspires me or a sound out there that eviscerates me on the altar of the sonic temple like The Cult or some of the
other older bands I listen to. I like all kinds of music, but I'm not quite sure what "does it for me" musically. I hear something that I like and I
play the shit out of it!

Big Country had The Cult support them in 1984 and Mark Brzezicki played drums on the Love album...
I think that was the only thing that raised my eyebrow but I had Sonic Temple and Electric before I bought Love....
Fuck it all and fucking no regrets I hit the lights on these dark sets.
