I saw that a Japanese version of BGE
had an extra track called Libertine on it.
Has anybody heard it? I know one "new" Cult song is worth A LOT, but before I fork out $25.00 for a cd for 1 song I was hoping someone here can give
me some feedback on it.

The japanese and australian BG&E have it if I'm not wrong.
Plenty of us have it , among other things. I guess I have it but not sure about the quality. If you want I can burn you a cd with it and other Cult
things.
The word is : SHARE !

I have it live! The first time it was ever played live in fact. Ian introduces it " ...a brand, brand new song." I think it's a pretty good tune and
probably should have been released as a single. Download it first as MP3 and see if you like it before you go and make the $ commitment.
I said "Elemental" and just then, it started to rain.

I'm determined to get it! SO happy to still have "new" Cult to look forward to! Not
that I'm giving up on real NEW Cult . I'm still hoping for some new songs from Billy and Ian. They will come!

One of the best tracks off BG&E, too bad it wasn't on the album for most of the world. Anyways, its on the Rise single U.K. import, which you can
usually snag off ebay at a more reasonable price. I have it and see it frequently on WinMX, if you're interested. Or, if you are hooked up on msn
messenger, i can transfer it that way too.

yeah, I also got a good copy off WinMX - it's definitely out there for the grabbin'
I think Libertine should have been the first US single, cuz that song kicks ass. Then Rise could have been the followup. Would have made for a nice
1-2 punch. Oh well 8)

Okay, I download winMX. When I searched for Libertine or The Cult - I got nothing.
I then searched Aerosmith thinking there must be lots on them and still nothing.
Do you think I got a bad download or something? I'm assuming it works just like Kazalite? :puzzled:

Best deal is to BUY the CD SINGLE of RISE from E-Bay...
the UK release of Rise is a 3 track CD single...it has Rise (Radio Edit)...Rise (album version) and Libertine...well worth looking out for...
And HEY Taokow...wasn't that Live version of Libertine from the SUN DOWN film festival?...

when i heard the live feed of the song i thought that it fuckin Kicked Arse...i was sitting at my PC all fuckin night long...
the studio version is quite a let down...i just feel that it lacks edge...almost blunted...unlike the BG&E album...it's as if they recorded it as an
afterthought or for single B'side additional track lameo use (in this i also add the B'sides that were recorded during LOVE)...
if it's down to taste...and lets be honest here...taste is what we have...the studio version of the song is almost exactly the same as the original
live version...no additional work during the recording sessions...why didn't they tweek the song?...it's not as if BG&E was filling every second on a
CD?...they could have released the album in the same version world wide...with Libertine....coz in my opinon...it's worth being there...

Thanks for "taste" report doggie! Well, I have one version coming to me
and will look for the kick ass live version as well! Its kind of nice to know I have a "new" Cult song still out there for me. Naturally, I'm dying
to hear it. I wonder if we'll ever get to hear the other songs that didn't make BG&E.

the Cult material that was either demo'd or scrapped from the final draft of BG&E is the exclusive property of Atlantic Records...and i guess that
means that all the songs that were in various production stages and were in one format or another commited to studio tape...are lost...
well...lost until some cunning plan is developed to retrive the said recordings and get them up on the WWW for free download...
