don't know if I can explain it to you exactly, but I'll try;
You know what "sie prüfen mich" means?
if not, it means; "they test me" or they
"auf herz und nieren" is just a phrase, translated "on heart and kidneys"
don't know if there is a phrase used in english for that.
the whole sentence means;
they test me everything
or
they check everything on me
I'm not sure if I'm right so don't count on me
