What CD in your collection would ruin your street credibility?

This is a question that they asked Rob Zombie on the Craig Cilbourne show...I can't recall Rob's answer... But anyway, I'll go first! I guess it would have to be anything by ABBA or Dead or Alive! Not the most manley tunes ever written, but dammit, they are catchey as hell! Who's next? Its O.K.! You are among friends here!

Darren, do you think I might be able to top your Level 42 with my Bon Jovi "New Jersey" or maybe Madonna "Like a Prayer"? I also have Springsteen "Born to Run", and The Eagles Greatest Hits 1971-1975. Do I get extra points for actually owning them all simultaneously? Not that there's anything wrong with those discs - they each have something that I like, or I wouldn't let them take up space in my collection - it's just that I don't usually brag about owning them.......um, until now that is

Gary,
Prince and Digital Underground are not to be ashamed of. Fuck Prince is god in my book.

I have nothing I am ashamed of because, it's all music and music is worth listening too. Or perhaps I just don't have tunes that I'm embarrased about owning such as New Kids On The Block (my wife loves them though) or any other trite boy band stuff. I simply only listen to the good stuff I guess. When I think of my CD collection I can't think of anything that doesn't belong. Hum...

I have one cd that i don't know where my head was when i bought it: the first record of Limp Bizkit. Yes... that one ruins my street credibility.

The programming, melodies, subject matter, ideas that they convey are very dangerous art. I enjoy them 100% and am not afraid to admit that I find them one of todays hidden treasures. I am not kidding either.

Dodgy Gear

Tuff call this...

i can't say The Osmans as Crazy Horses fuckin rules!!

i cant say ABBA as all their stuff fuckin rules!!

I can't say Dead Or Alive as i had loads of thier old singles before (you spin me round) like a record baby (including some with Wayne Hussy playing on them before he joined the Sisters)

I own Spice Girls, Madonna, Cher, Robbie Williams, A Flock Of Seagulls and hundreds of others that all have something of value...

maybe if i ever bought Country and Western i could be seriously concerned about my music being of the offensive nature!!

I have Donna Summer, Huey Lewis and The News, Prince, Duran Duran, Pat Benetar, and Bryan Adams (just to name a few) on vinyl.
My first concert was Duran Duran, i was a big dork in junior high.
I've been to a Spice Girl concert (minus Ginger, she was the best one out of all them) N~Stink, and Mandy Moore, and I went to these shows for the love of my daughter, but the scary thing is I knew all the lyrics and was dancing along:puzzled::o

OMG!
Donna Summers-Ring my bell-el-elll ring my bell and I love to love ya baby.

And Tom Jones on The Cult board too? *tsktsk* ;)
"What's new pussy cat, whoa oh oh oh oh" "She's a lady, whoa oh oh, she's a lady" I saw him with some young guy and he looked pretty sharp.

And no Angel, whitney can never be funny.

get out from under that rock

stand up and be counted missy

there is no reason (that i can figure) for anyone to like C & W in the western world...i thought it was only created to confuse the shit outta the inhabitants of countries out side of the north american continent...to mislead everyone who didn't know any better...that the backwoods and plains are not full of rednecks and truck drivers!! :moon:

seems i was wrong!!

Yes you were wrong.....about CW

And lyrics like this are why.

Burn

Do you wanna be a poet and write
Do you wanna be an actor up in lights
Do you wanna be a soldier and fight for love
Do you wanna travel the world
Do you wanna be a diver for pearls
Or climb a mountain and touch the clouds above

Be anyone you want to be
Bring to life your fantasies
But I want something in return

I want you to burn
Burn for me baby
Like a candle in my night
Oh burn
Burn for my, burn for me

Are you gonna be a gambler and deal
Are you gonna be a doctor and heal
Or go to heaven and tough God’s face
Are you gonna be a dreamer who sleeps
Are you gonna be a sinner who weeps
Or an angel under grace

I’ll lay down on your bed of coals
Offer up my heart and soul
But in return

I want you to burn
Burn for me baby
Like a candle in my night
Oh burn
Burn for my, burn for me

Laugh for me, cry for me
Pray for me, fly for me
Live for me, die for me

I want you to burn
Burn for me baby
Like a candle in my night
Oh burn
Burn for my, burn for me

I hope you enjoyed that. ;)

Yes they are lyrics. It's by JoDee Messina, who is a cross over CW artist. It's a great song, one of my favorites. Go here for a listen:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004VVXW/qid=1051126168/sr...

Tongue in cheek? Nope when a girl wants you to burn for her, you know what she means.

You'd be surprised at CW these days. Ever heard of Shania Twain? HOT!!!

I'm glad you liked it, my pet.
