LOOOOOOOOOOVE ...
... the best Cult record "Love" I've said this before, but what the hell, it bears mentioning again: Listen to the "Love" album again, then listen to
the live recordings of tht record from the 1985/86 tours, then listen to live recordings of it from 1994/95, then listen to the live recordings from
1999/2000/1/2 - the "Love" album seems to get better with age. It sounded great to begin with, but,
"Rain", "Nirvana", the title track "Love", "Revolution","She sells Sanctuary" "Hollow Man" and "The Phoenix" kick ass more live than they do on vinyl,
more energetic, more raw and passionate,
"Nirvana" has been re - arranged a couple of times, so there's variation with that song too,
"Brother Wolf Sister Moon" sounds better live, the few times that they've played it live, years after they recorded it then it does on vinyl (but I do
miss the keyboards in the middle section, right after Billy's solos) ...
Ian's voice sounds better live during the songs listed above than on vinyl. The various different drummers The Cult have had have brought something
different to those songs over the years ...
hell even the b - sides from this record that they've played live - "All Souls Avenue", "The Snake" all sound better live than on vinyl! Don't get me
wrong, I like all of the other records The Cult have done, and these songs all sounded great to begin with, but again, no other Cult record has aged
as well as "Love" has ...
... just my two cents ... plus tax ... :D

Hey homer I know where your at. Love has a special place for me its a great album and I've put alot of hours listening into it. The title track really
sticks out as the best tune for me as its really mesmeric?! . Taking various narcotics to it as well does odd things to you, as you probably know.
I just happen to at the moment think that BG&E has more weight to it at the moment. Breath is just such an awesome tune...

homer, i would consider myself a HUGE fan of the cult, and have been for years. and i LOVE the love album. but WOW! your knowledge on the nuances of
the songs as they've developed through the years is mind bggling! such fine attention to intricate details. hats off dude!! :D
as for favorites.....i would have to say, it really rotates according to mood. can never say-YES, this is really above the rest. they are all awesome
in their own right.
on love, Hollowman is crushingly beautiful. so is Revolution-man that song is haunting!
Southern Death Cult is AWESOME too-i have not heard anything that is as raw and as powerful as that!
Dreamtime is seriously pivotal. etc etc.

Tough Call!
if i had to put it in order of best to worse then i guess it would go a little like this...
1. Love
2. Sonic Temple
3. Beyond Good & Evil
4. Dreamtime
5. Rockers Ravers Lovers Sinners (Pure Cult)
6. Rare Cult (7CD set)/Best Of Rare Cult
7. Electric
8. Ceremony
if i was to include Peace in there as a single album release it would tie for 4th place with Dreamtime :P
:flame:ON!!!
Black Angels watch over neglecting the living but not the undead
Blessed are the hallowed and gracious for their blood shall keep us fed
Hark the electric thunder drawn like moths to a flame
To a place of wicked wonder...and Hollywood be thy name.

Ceremony I think is a really underrated album. We've all listened to the demo stuff for ceremony to know that musically it's strong, its the
production that makes it suffer in places. Tunes like ... white ceremony, earth mofo, indian, and heart of soul , not to mention red jesus as well are
really good tunes and I think hold up. If only that album came out alot sooner it probably would have done alot better. The world (apart from us) was
rejecting rock music and the cult suffered. Shame on the world. THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO...

1.Ceremony
2.Beyond Good And Evil
3.Love
4.Sonic Temple
5.The Cult/Electric
6.Dreamtime
Not to say that any of them is better than any other........
I love it all but Ceremony is the album I have played the most over the years than any of the others.
The boxsets are great, same with the compilation cd's(Pure Cult,The Singles,High Octane Cult).
At the end of the day this band has not produced a bad album
Fuck it all and fucking no regrets I hit the lights on these dark sets.

Great from top to bottom!
1. Sonic Temple
2. Beyond Good and Evil
3. Love
4. Electric
5. The Cult
6. Ceremony
7. Dreamtime
I love the Rare, Demo and singles box sets, but since they really weren’t albums crafted by Ian & Billy for public consumption, I can’t treat them
like the others that were.

damn i gotta pick one?? JUST ONE?!
man i cant choose on this one....................
i seem to play Electric a lot lately (prolly cuz im gonna get all LRM'ed up soon for prom), and i play Sonic Temple and Ceremony lots too. i dont
know what all the fuss is about, but Ceremony KICKS SOME SERIOUS ASSAGE. its got the hard-hitting loud and screaching seem to go on forever guitar
solos i like, and the right amount of belting from Ian of course. when Ian belts "YYYEEEEEEEEAAAA-HAAAAAAA!!!!" towards the end of the title track,
it gives me chills everytime - no lie. now a good album to me is an album that can do that every time i listen to it, and the 3 mentioned do it
everytime. thats what makes an album good - and it tells how ballsy it is in my book.

If I had to pick just one???....."Electric" ....because it reminds me of those crazy-care-free-days I had as a bright-eyed, wild-haired teen ! That
album/CD/cassette/mp3 is very RAW, Sexy, and Violent (in a good way!).....Punches me in the face every time I crank it! MUCH PROPS to Rick Rubin on
that one! ( also, Props to ol' Rick with his work on those SLAYER albums!!!)

today i have been mostly listening to HIM
Beyond Good and Evil was in the car stereo for the past week and I have even got round to watching the live dvd again.
Even though I want to shoot the crowd everytime I watch it.
Nice to see Star in the extra footage bit.
Kinda of weird seeing the pic in the fan gallery with the blonde hair....i like the brown better.
Fuck it all and fucking no regrets I hit the lights on these dark sets.

From best to worst:
1. Beyond Good and Evil
2. Dreamtime
3. The Cult (these first 3 were close)
4. Love
5. Electric
6. Sonic Temple
7. Ceremony
If I could include Ghost Dance by the Death Cult, it would be first.
