I'm an old school 80's fan, but I'm afraid it's a different kind of 80's than you my dear. I'm more of the Cure, Depeche Mode, New Wave fan. The
beginnings of Industrial and the whole early goth and electronic movements. Alas the other side of the 80's was not my cup of tea. Sorry I couldn't
be of any assistance to you my dear.

X is a great release. I like it. It's captures how the band has matured.
Hysteria rocks. It's what brought metal into the mainstream. And that is an undisputable fact!
Vault, their greatest hits compilation remains a top selling album to this very day. A testament to how great this band really is.
Euphoria, yes is very good. But so are Adranalize and Retro Active (the last one that Steve Clark played on...may he RIP).
For your info, the current set list DL is playing is mostly the old stuff---from High n Dry and Pryomania. Switch 625 sounds as good live today as it
does on HND. So do all the others!
They gave a kick ass show! Go and see for yourself. As for retirement... Not Hardly!!!!!!

I love 80's old school... just about anything EXCEPT DEF LEPPARD! I always found their music lacked something- never really liked them.

I love 80s stuff.
Def Leppard was great early on. On Through The Night, High N Dry, and Pyromania were all amazing albums (High N Dry is still one of the great rock
albums of all-time in my book), but they just lost me on Hysteria (lone exception — "Women"). The last record from them that I bought was
Adrenalize, and that was absolutely horrible (lone exception — "Personal Property"). I haven't heard anything played on the radio from any of their
subsequent albums. Actually, they were here in Baltimore last night, and the local radio station didn't even play any of their new stuff, which I
found kind of strange. It's cool that they're playing Switch 625 on the tour — that's a great "drive fast" song.

98 Rock played a shit load of it last nite! They sponsored the gig at Mariner Arena. You should have gone.......
HnD is wonderful, plain old kick ass rock! It's one of my favorites, but you know being a girl, I do like Hysteria...it's got that romantic sound to
it.

I would have considered going, but I didn't know anything about it until around 5:00 last night. Too bad. Do you remember the setlist, by chance? I'd
love to hear some old faves like "Wasted", "Sorrow is a Woman", "Lady Strange", "Mirror Mirror", etc. Great tunes.
I like your list of artists, too, PG. Billy Idol and Midnight Oil were two of my favorites growing up. Actually, Billy got me into the Cult when I saw
them open on the Whiplash Smile tour. Amazing shows, they were.

songs come on the radio. I'm a sucker for the lunch hour all 80s requests from 12 to 1 and Saturday nights from 8 to 9 on our local VH1-ish station in

Personally, I agree completely about "OTTN", "HND" & "Pyro..." lp's,
as far as "Hysteria" album: "Women" "Rocket" & "God's of War" are the only songs I can still listen to,
as for "Adrenalize" yes, it was horrible: and it was mostly just unfinshed songs from "Hysteria", that record came out in 1992 I didn't buy it until
1995 and that was just because I found an autographed copy of it with two bonus tracks,
"RetroActive" (1993) was good but just a re - release of old b - sides, and "Two Steps Behind" sucks like all hell,
"Vault" ... oh, please ... STILL MORE "HYSTERIA" RE - RELEASES,
"Slang" (1996) ... the band sounds good they just didn't bother to write any good songs,
"Euphoria" (1999) ... good record, no complaints,
"X" should have been called ZZZZZZZZZ ... they've completely lost me with that record, I'll never buy another Def Leppard album again -
I do think Leppard needs to stop putting out records - maybe do a tour every few years, but never do another record again ... they just keep selling
out and getting worse ...
