Don't you find it disturbing at all? I mean sometimes you can hear the enthusiasm in the newscasters voice as they recite the play by play, the film
showing the dead smouldering in the tanks, a burnt hand reaching up (and you know he's good as dead) but they just keep looping it over and over.
Never before have I seen such a flagrant disrespect for life.
It's left me wondering what kind of people we have become. And when I hear people saying stuff like "woo, took half that kids face off" it makes me
feel awful.
I wonder how many kids in Iraq are going to come back to the States..normal.
Nevermind, I'm just complaining. I should learn to be hard and learn to not feel so much.

Hey Gina,
Here is something to think about that has been weighing in on my mind for awhile. Look at the world we live in right now. Violence, deceit,
bloodshed, torture, greed, disease, fear, so many terrible things going on in our world right now. It reminds me of something with all this "Reality
TV", war coverage, and a "dictator" for a president. Also you can't go any where any more with out a television being on. This all leads me to this
conclusion, and don't laugh there is some reality to my thought process. Do you remember "The Running Man" with Arnold Schwartzenager? I really feel
that our society is headed in that direction. Our publics blood lust gets more and more everyday for real trauma (TLC's Life in The ER), real blood
(Fear Factor NBC), nudity (Real World MTV), violence (Celebrity Boxing FOX), back stabbing (Survivor CBS), every station right now is guilty of some
"reality TV" and the public gets hungrier and hungrier for more blood, more pain, more nudity, more violence, more back stabbing. It's scary, does
the media play a role in the desensitising of America and the world? I don't really know where I am going with all this, all I know is that our world
seems to play out more and more everyday like "The Running Man", next public executions will be televised.
Gina, you know that I believe that if you don't like what you are watching change the channel. You know that I believe it's the parents responsiblity
to raise their children, not the TV, the Schools, the Video Games, or anything of that nature, but I really feel something about to break in our
society and not for the children. I feel that all this is gonna be for the adults. We are going to get more extreme, television will have to get
more extreme to get viewers to get adverstising money so the rich stay richer and the public get sapped out of what they have always believed to be
correct.
I've said this before and I will say it again, through out history when a society reaches it's apex of technology and advancement, it implodes. This
has happened to every great civilation since man rose from up from the great apes.
I'm not one for doomesday prophecies, but I really believe we are on the edge of extinction. We are gonna wipe our selves out. SARS, AIDS, Weapons
of Mass Destruction, Nuclear Weapons, Jihad, North Korea, Artifical Inteligence (almost), Credit Cards, WAR, WAR, WAR! Gina for the first time in my
life I think that we need to take a look at our lives and change the way we think about the world around us. I don't know, I could be totally off
base here, I mean, I'm only a 30 year old college educated male, who doesn't believe in God or religion, who doesn't support my president or this war
for oil, and works for the exact vehicle for the mass desensitizing of America.
So take my words for what they are worth, I just think that some things are aligning them selves to make life very difficult for the future.

I remember the movie Gabe. I'll just keep in mind that the good guy wins in the end.
Changed the channel lots over the last few weeks but there's no getting away from the radio talk and newspaper headlines in the stores and the
constant war news updates on the tele. Can't even watch a tv movie anymore without disturbing images flashing on the screen. Sunday night Disney
even.
Is our civilization at it's apex and about to implode? Something to think long and hard on isn't it.
Got to get back to the basics..somehow..OR get really REALLY NASTY!

Yes Gina, I do believe that we have reached our Apex. I do believe that the walls are going to come tumbling down. I heard Tom Brokaw say today that
he knows for a fact from a government offical that Iraq is only the first country in this "Regime Change". Next is Syria, then Jemen, and on and on
and on. Gina, this ain't a good time right now. I don't know how it's all gonna play out. I do know that we are now reaching the Climax of the
story, the denumait and then the conclusion are coming up next and I don't know if I'm gonna like the way this story ends. I'm not so sure the good
guys are winning this time.

dude Gabe - i hear ya buddy, loud and clear. im only 18, not even outta high school yet, and i was thinking the same thing. and i have said for
years (literally) that we are gonna eventually go extinct from one of 2 things - our own stupidity or from killing each other (i thought stupidity
would be the death of us all for sure). and i'll be damned if this fucking war didnt start when i was on spring break at my grandparents house sittin
on the porch chillin with em. i was sitting in the porch swing and looked out over their place (which is huge by the way) and an image flashed in my
mind, and i didnt like it. an image of what that place would look like in a time of war, all burnt and destroyed littered with charred bodies of
people my age, just too young to be dying by the masses, death all over the place......the smoke and stench of burnt flesh swirling in the breeze, the
screams of soldiers dying and begging to be killed or saved, crying out the names of their loved ones with their last breath..............i know ur
prolly thinking oh my god how morbid and what not, but that image has been stuck in my mind and it really REALLY bothers me. i just find the whole
thing very unsettling at how many lives are lost and still being taken away - its just sickening to me.
well having got that outta my system i think i feel a little better, im not sure..........now i just hafta sleep at night.
