Pussy Problems

We have this poor little kitten that hangs around our work, it only has 3 legs (one is deformed) she is the cutest thing, and very friendly, but she's not allowed to come into the shop (which she invariably does) we have tried dropping her over the fence, squirting her with water when she comes near the door, evenfeeding her on the other side of the property. She follows her owner down when he comes to the pub. Any ideas on how to stop her?

so Dear Sidewinder, that is a huge problem. You don't have to beat the kitty, because she won't understand why are you doing that. SO, STOP SQUIRTING WATER AT HER.
Try to hake a tin with coins. If it happens to be non-effective, throw the tin somewhere closer to the door (but not at the cat, please!). It will work! Combine these methods with rewards which your cat should get every time moving away from the door.
You can use also the keys. Throw them straight in front of you. It will frighten the cat without doing it the least harm.
But have you tryed closing the door???? ;)

Romi, where did you learn all these tactics??
I think we need to start a webpage for cat problems or problem cats.
I'm lucky that I have 7 cats at home and only one is looney tunes(sniglets).

We can advertise:

Pussy Problems,ask Romi and Deb!:D

Try throwing the owner over the fence, or squirt him/her with the water! Anyone that would allow a kitten with a disability to roam around needs a kick in the slats!

Obviously the owner must be aware that it is following him/her, so why do they not ensure that it "follows" them back home again? I am aware cats are hard to contain, and mine will often follow me when I take a walk, but I make damn sure they come home with me.

Ever thought that the kitten might be trying to "escape" to a more suitable abode? Perhaps the owner of the kitten should be made aware on one of their frequent visits that their "pet" seems to prefer the ambience of a liquor store than it's own home. I sincerely hope that the "deformity" you speak of is a defect of birth, and not a broken leg that has never received treatment, thus "fusing" into the deformity.

Sorry to get on my soapbox, but years of working with neglected cats and seeing how some people treat their animals, I have become conditioned and get suspicious when reading things like this. :(

I agree with you about all that you've said. Why people insist of having animals if don't know how to treat them???? :(

Well, thanks Romi, I am now short one set of keys. The little fucker ran off with them and hid them somewhere. Had to hotwire my car.
Squirting it with the spray bottle wasn't hurting it, it LIKES the fucking water!!! It plays with it.
The bloody kitchen staff fed it today, so it was hanging around all night.
This time I took precautions. I darted it (with a half dose cos it only a kitten), once asleep (it feels no pain) I dropped it off at the RSPCA with the owner's address. Little bastard broke 3 bottles of VERY expensive red tonight (1997 Grange $279, 1998 Hill of Grace $219, 1998 St Henri $62)

Oh yeah, and it's name is Tripod (it was on her collar)

And Shann, the leg is just a very little one, so it is a birth defect. ANd the guy who is in the bar isn't the owner, he's the housemate of the owner.
