Ian is a SUPPORTER of this WAR.

Comments at the Houston show and other remarks show Ian is not a commie peace partier.

Culties, don't impose your misguided views of WAR AND PEACE in Ian!

umm, i think it said.....

that ian expressed his support for the troops, which isn't exactly the same as supporting the war

and since none of us seems to have been there, at this time we dont know exactly what he said

you might want to think twice before putting words into his mouth. then again, you might not.

God,it just keeps getting worse around here,Sonic we all know your feelings, can you not give it a rest for awhile please?,do we have to be at war "here" as well? Is that what you want? you want everybody to fight and and disagree and get ugly with each other, can't this place be our "sanctuary" from all the ugliness going out in the world,I will not speak for Ian like yourself but he might be more apt to agree with me on this, then you,you are enjoying this war and that is scary to me.

I was there and Ian was obviously in support of the WAR. He actually was trying to rally people and fire them up . Robbie was also a little vocal regarding this issue. I heard Ray say nothing about the battle other than to tell Robbie and Ian to cut it out.

this board....

is to talk about music. i agree with IANA, we don't have to talk about politics here.
If you want to talk war....just find a group that wants to do that. its obvious here people are wanting to chill out.
that doesn't mean we dont have an opinion, or that we are dumb. but there is a time and a place for everything. this is definitely not the place.

although i think it's very unlikely that Ian aprooves this war i cannot speak for him as for Ray i think it's pretty obvious his opinion about it after listening to the HBO show... well at least for me...

oh yes and about the war topic i as Mad Mike think this has everything to do with the Cult, with music, with life. I just don't agree with how some people discuss it. It's not the subject of discussion that is the problem it's the way it's being discussed...

freedom of speech, don't like it don't read it. simple as that.

again, my opinion.

Yes
I was so sad too. Incredibly sad. A little part of me hopes it's not true, but I tell you hope is in short supply these days.

But that's the price you pay when you are labeled a hippie commie peacenik. I refuse to give my ground on this. If Ian rally's for blood, than so be it. I...will not.

at the end of the day it's Ian's opinion and not yours.
I don't agree with the war,but then again I don't agree with Saddam either.
What Ian and the rest of you think about this is YOUR opinion,I'd rather not have someone try to ram it down my throat everywhere I go,especially on a site that is about music.

That's exactly what I said in my last post on the "no respect" thread,I did not like the way I was talking to people, I am not by nature a rude, nasty person and I became that with Romi and apologized,I do agree,"freedom of speech" is necessary,I do respect others opinions and I believe we can discuss certain topics without obsenities being thrown back and forth and especially not purposely trying to rile people up.

I agree with Moya and Iana...

By the way I've read some words on The Doors board today and seems they gave their opinion on war last night again... See this report:

"They (The Doors) talked about native american beliefs before they did the song Ghost song so that was cool. they also said God bless Texas and that to pray for the troops to come home and give support to the troops which was ok(I support the troops but not the war) Although he didnt say anything about Bush which is good because if he had made a pro Bush statement my evening would have been ruined. He also said pray for peace and pray for the troops to come home quick and that they are all safe and none of them get hurt which was good"

I am totally against this war, against innocent people dying,my heart goes out to the people who have their country invaded but our guys are there and as an American I will support them and hope that this atrocity ends quickly.Bush was not my choice for President.I get really scared being the "media ho";) that I am,watching the whole world protest against my country and then to have it here as well,(here meaning America, not the board) I just wish my fellow Americans would support our troops there wether they support the war or not.As far as this board, respect for each other is all we need when discussing hot topics.

OK.

Iana. I agree with you. I hereby, will not post any more rants on this particular page.

Cult music is too important. (I am serious)
I posted this here simply because some of my buds heard his comments and I thought it was important enough to post it the way I did.

I WILL keep it on OFF THE CULT!

Thanks for your comments everyone.

This ones for Moya, Fire, Fire Fire!
My friends tell me I look like a cross between Beavis, Butthead and Ricky Martin!

It doesn't matter to me what side you post on or what you post about,I just think keeping it civil and respectful is most important.:)

I agree. Though, I am guilty at times of getting hard core. I also think this section [The Cult] should be devoted to the music and people [band] of the Cult.

I reacted to Mad Mike posting on this side with, clearly, stuff that should be Off The Cult.

Interested in my looks are you, well, yes, I move and look like Ricky, sing like Beavis and have hair like Butthead. Not pretty. 8)

No one is perfect. If Ian is supporting this war, then the Cult's lyrics and spirit is bullshit.
I can't believe that.

Sonic you are a nice guy but sometimes you seems that have shit instead of brains.

As to Ian's oppinion :

EVERYBODY is entilted to have one.

My respect and admiration of him is connected with his music and lyrics, in the other fields I'll agree with some of his oppinions (the ones that connect with my thoughts), and will disagree with the ones I don't feel connected with.

It would be interesting to know exactly WHAT he said ...

Hey Jay,

I really like Ian for his music also. But, many at the shows KNOW what he is saying.

For those of you who want "a peace" at any cost and impose your views on the people who make the music you like, take note.

There are those who say that without certain 'forces' in the world, many countries and people in the world would not have any 'peace' or 'freedom'.

I think Cult's BG&E caught, for a moment, the pulse of a world destined for WAR. The total eclipse of 1999 was called the 'King of Terror', by Nostradamus.
Vibrations of the past and future can be felt today.

Hey Sonic,

I'm miles away from believeing that this world is destinated to war. Men make war, peace and balance are the natural path of things.

"Peace at any cost" is what US and Britain are doing now, with this war. What else should we call it ?

If Ian's oppinion is in support of this war, so be it, it is his right, but I'll never agree with it, neither I'll let my admiration for his work overcome my judgement of things.
