Off Cult?

OK,., so its been awhile since you've gotten a MadMad rant,.,. so ,.,.

Since when is posting anti-war protest dates and times among this group not 'Cult-related' or 'off-Cult'?
I beg to differ.

It is everything that Ian Astbury (and we who share his spirit) stands for!

Peace Dog. Join Hands. Revolution. Hollow Man. If. Moya.

Soldier Blue:

Soldier Blue, soldier fright
He's gonna bust up everything in sight
A real heavy dude in a killing mood
Pack your bags or you'll be through
He's guaranteed to shatter all your dreams
His mind's exploded, ego's overloaded
Hey children, start a running

I have seen the sunset, the sea on fire
Ships burn off the coast of Orion
Dreams of peace wait on the horizon
Clouds filled with blood rain on the water
While night time's fingers clench the light shut
Our sister rides the horse Apocalypse
Now is the closing
Love has no season

War:

Split the lip that dope feeds
Exterminate the bad seed
Tread the path that monks breathe
Ride the horse that runs free

That runs free,.,.,.,.,

Props to lizzie, Libertine,.,. and their 'ilk' for standing up and stating views that are, indeed, smarter and more important than running a poll about one's ass getting licked.

It's never the ones who make the war that fight the war.
In the free world, we have the power of individual voice and the right to assemble to expound those points.

And this board is the correct place to speak of Peace. Surely, Ian would agree.

Can I get a 'Hell Yeah' ???

:D

better still...

HELL YEAH!!!

From Velvet night came forth our torch burns eternal,
For time is but a dream and our mischeif be infernal,
Black Angels watch over neglecting the living but not the undead,
Blessed are the hallowed and gracious for their blood shall keep us fed,
Hark the electric thunder drawn like moths to a flame,
To a place of wicked wonder...and Hollywood be thy name.

'BOUT TIME!!

I didn't want to be the Michael Moore of this group, but I guess it's time to stand up and be counted. I am against this war and am an American. I am quite sure I am in good company, and would like to believe that Ian is against this war on principle , as well. I hate to make presumptions, but the spirit of The Cult (lyrically at least) is clearly pro-life and in some cases quite clearly and poignantly against war. These opinions are decidely considered by some riding the Nationalist Bandwagon as unpatriotic and as evidenced by the "NO RESPECT" thread in "Off-Cult" not to be tolerated. There is an ugly type of wartime "McCarthyism" being perpetrated by some posters, where dissent or a DIFFERING OPINION is being criticized or blatantly discouraged by adolescent inflammation ("Faghdad"; "...your either with us or against us at this point."... How old are you.... 13 ?) and "Rallying around the Flag". I think these claptrap times where there is great pressure to conform to the Party Line is dangerous and actualizes all the more reason for dissent, questioning, and peaceful protest. I am really quite surprised by the vehemaence and war-like posture displayed by some Cult fans...it is disheartening in a time when more level-headed, thoughtful and loving encouragement is needed. In a world manifesting Hate daily, more Love is needed, As the Buddha said..."hate never yet dispelled hate, only Love dispels hate. "
I would like to think that even though I oppose this war and President Bush's dangerous "preemption doctrine" I can support our troops. I am as acutely aware of our losses as theirs' and mourn both equallly... I don't believe an Iraqi life is any less valuable than an American life, and alas the Iraqis will very likely do most of the dying in this one sided war.

I thought times would have changed, but I am almost afraid of the conformist backlash that is so swift in this wartime America. Blacklists and Blackballing might come back in to vogue during GULF WAR II.
I say if you have doubts about this war- don't just blindly support it, because everybody else is. Our ideological reasons for war are hypocritical and suspect. Money, Politics, and a patriarchal vendetta are at work.

War! What is it good for?!

I said "Elemental" and just then, it started to rain.

stupid!

well as i've been quoted as being childish or what the hell ever, heres my last 2 cents!!!

i am a peaceful person for the most part(i've got other battles to fight right now).

BUT!!!!!!

knowing people fighting and dying for this so called country(i say that in the most respectful way i can as it was stolen to begin with) i totally stand 100% behind my fellow citizens that are deployed in iraq!!

my personal views are just that, personal views! if i say faghdad then i mean faghdad, eat me. does it make me a bad guy cause i get pissed that the fucking people of the land(that was stolen) have sooo much to say,, hell yeah!!

you all (u.s.a peoples)have no right to say shit as far as i care, you gave up your rights long ago when you broke your so called "treatys" with my people.

how can anyone honor a treaty if its not done on your own soil?

riddle me this batman:

who has the guns?
whos has the police?
who has the hate?

everyone does!

be blind, be micheal moore be susan sarandon, be yourself by yourself, stay away from me!

this is a new world, and i dont like it!

i want the old ways, freedom, trading. normal life. unfortunatly its done.

this is the new world, we got shit to deal with, so please people if nothing else just believe in our men and women in the fighting force, they are good and decent people!!

stoping hate begins with YOU!

[Edited on 3-27-2003 by the wizard]

when kids ask me how does santa clause live forever, i tell them "it's because he drinks blood".

if life deals you lemons, why not go kill someone with the lemons(maybe by shoving them down his throat).

it's too bad that whole families have to be torn apart by something as simple as wild dogs.

If there were no religions, then there would be no war. It’s the way it’s always been, all wars are based on religion, and the land that the religions are practised on. I lived through a war most of my life, over a stupid tiny piece of land!

Munki is absolutely right. You are the one that need a kick in the ass for your stupid comment.
USA attack Iraq in the name of God, Muslims attacks in the name of Allah, Ireland have problems between Christians and Protestants, the war in Servia is between Christians, muslims, ortodoxes, etc....
So... i don't think that the comment of Munki is insightful as you said.
