So, PG, where are you going for the eclipse?!

I'll be going to a remote desert oasis (grove of palm trees around waterfalls (mountain borne stream) with a hot spring that is piped to individual campsites). It'll be a long weekend, starting with the eclipse on Thursday night.

The drive from San Diego takes four hours, alot off-road. 40 miles on a dry lake bed (just like in the car commercials).
The other part of the off-road ride we go from the dry lake up into the desert arroyo in the foothills of a mountain range that reaches 6,000 ft.

Sometimes, for sure this time, I will have a Tequila sipping system, that, while I drive and listen to the Cult cranked, (just like the outdoor athlete rehydration system, like for backpackers) I booze it up, driving into the dez, to the oasis.

I'll be there until Sunday for the evening Full Moons and the daytime waterfalls and partying. One of my favorite songs is the Doors song released on the Tribute release "Stoned Immaculate", the same one Ian is on. The song is "Under Waterfall". Very Me Man!

The other one is on "Holy Barbarians, Cream", 'Bodhisattva'. Thats the kinda girl I like taking to the "oasis". "Lets get naked in the wind!"

Anyway, yeah, now that the WAR stuff is over, back to the good times...I love Lunar eclipses and sunsets. Ultimate Cult cut for the Fire "Naturally High", from the self titled work, The Cult.

LOL so it's skin on skin for you, Fire, with a nice breeze blowing? Actually, being naked in the desert is rather appealing. There's nothing like a hot sunny day and the way the heat makes you feel when it's 115 degrees plus. I love that feeling. There's nothing like it.

Enjoy yourself out there with Mother Nature. Fire. I'll be looking down upon you and viewing that eclipse from my perch in the Milky Way, with my Intellectual Love God on my right, and my High Priest of Love on my left. Let's hope they can get along with each other, and not ruin the moment by squabbling!

PG, I get out to the DEZ in the Spring, prior to the 115 degree environment. My fav is 92 degrees with cool mountain fed waterfalls and 102 degree hot spring water in the hand built rock pool!

If I get lucky I'll fill the 'Fire Rocket' ( A built Suburban) with 'nature girls'. By the way, you gave me the spasm, I just gave you the nectar of it!

i have seen the desert...but not the great American ones...the only one i've seen is the Sahara...and it wasn't very pretty...

that doesn't mean that the places you are talking about aren't pretty...they are just not my world...i like my green fields and pasture...

the total eclipse that tracked the southern half of England a few years ago was viewed from such a green field...with standing stones and weird druids playing in the background...

And if you ever get to America, go to Arizona, see the Sonoran Desert. It's a beautiful place. Then go to Jerome, the Verde Valley/Cottonwood, and then Prescott Valley.

i have to take your word for the beauty of the place...i can understand the openess...the peacefulness...

but it just looks really desolate to me...
