Here's another chat room to try

Some people have had some problems with the chat room so I've set up another one to try out. You will have to register, and it sends your password to your email address. It takes a few minutes to get your password.

Try it out see it works any better than the other one.

Ok Karen, I had a chance to play with Andie in the new chat room, here's what I came up with:


It seems like an eternity til the e-mail comes with the password, but in reality it was about 10 minutes for each of us. I'm just terribly impatient, I guess.

Will there be a way to change our passwords later? It's hard enough for me to remember one that I make up, let alone one with random numbers, letters and capitalization. If not, I'll get over it. I have paper and a pencil, I can write it down.

Font color change - presto - much easier and faster than before. Great!

The archive time seemed fine. I'll admit it's a little disconcerting to log in and see the conversation that was going on beforehand though. I suppose that has pros and cons. Not really good or bad, just different from before.

Can you add more smilies? Andie wanted sex action and a group hug, and I was unable to oblige :(

The lag time seemed to be much better than the other room, and I even had a bunch of windows open, and Messenger, and had no trouble. I also didnt lose any posts, which is a big plus. But then again, the room wasnt full.

How about profiles? Any chance of adding info to them if we so desire?

I kept the tutorial page open the entire time, so I could refer to it easily. That helped with some of the commands.

All in all, it works well. As long as we can all get on, stay on, and see all of our posts, I guess that's the important thing. Sunday chat will be the real test. See you there!

The password can be changed on the main page where you log in. There is a link to edit user profile. You can change your password there and save it. That is where your profile is as well. It doesn't give much for a profile, but it is the basics.

Seeing the conversation that was going on before hand can be changed to one hour. I believe that is the minimum. So and hour after you've left the messages should clear. I will change it to an hour for tomorrow's chat.

Smilies, that's a good question. I'm not sure if it is possible to add more. I will check into it. My main concern was getting it up and running.

I got the the email immediately.
Changed the password too,yeah Linda those passwords are a nightmare unless your comp remembers them.
Well,don't know if I will be in chat on sunday.
Things to do and people to see and all that,but I'm always thinking about you's guys!

yeah i played with it too, and the commands wont work. i type it in like it says to but a little thingy pops up and says invalid command or sumthin like that. :puzzled: uh...................?

SP3, I don't know what kind of error that would be. What did you type in when you got the error?

Lizard J., I am planning to leave both chat rooms up for awhile. Then which ever one works best for everyone is the one I'll keep. If I end up keeping both, that's o.k. too. Then everyone will have a choice. Last Sunday we started out in the new one and ended up in the old one.

So I will need lots of feedback on both chat rooms.

well i wanted to change where comments came from, either the top or bottom, and i typed in the command for that then a window popped up sayin invalid command or sumthin like that. i think theres a little bug crawlin around on this site..............

while i agree that we have a great deal in common with our musical likes and dislikes...you and i don't have the same backgrounds...and we don't have the same views...

It's good to know that I am missed.
Thanks for the kind words Karen.
I am increasingly finding it difficult to make time on a sunday at the moment.
The weekend's when I work late I am usually out on the sunday cos I don't have to get up early the following morning(makes sense really...)
And the other times I am either not on the computer cos I am asleep or I am busy elsewhere on the net.
I appreciate the above comment from Andie too.
It seems alot of people are fucking with others on here and....not to sound like,I was here first or anything but,an amount of respect for others should be the priority.
I don't understand how people get elitest about bands.

Yes, you can go to the chat room and click on the link that says "Edit Your Profile" there you will have the option to change your password.

I am having the worst time with this new chatroom...I can't figure it out! and it's driving me nuts! I re-registered with the tdm user name and different email address...because it said the name tammy was already used...I never got an email sent to me with a password...Karen can you delete the old stuff under tammyuscg@aol.com? then maybe manually assign me a password...I don't know why I am having so many troubles...but it is comforting to know I am not the only one...I miss the chat...havent been there in what seems like months...hope all is well with everyone....
