THATS BULLSHIT

RedVelvet - 4-25-2003 at 03:16 PM

It's just lawyers (scum that some of them are) smelling money - everyone sees the potential for the band to be making lots of money, and they all want their share.

33% of a decent sized settlement is a lot of money - even if it never makes it to court. If it settles out of court, the lawyer still takes their cut.

It's a business, like any other. It's just a scummy business.

Yeah i was just reading that and was going to post it but you beat me to it Fender-Man

Guess everyone wants a piece of the pie, these people are pathetic.
Funny how Jim disassociated himself with his family and when asked about his Family Info he replied: DEAD

Hmmm it's funny how The Morrison's are suing, as well as Pamela Courson's parents, who share a 25 percent ownership stake in the Doors partnership.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The suit, filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges that a new touring incarnation of the Doors -- which includes keyboardist Manzarek, guitarist Krieger, and vocalist Ian Astbury (formerly of the Cult) -- has "wrongfully misappropriated" the band's name and logo, including reciting Morrison's poetry during performances. The suit, which seeks unspecified monetary damages, claims that the defendants are in "a deliberate scheme" to enrich themselves and "confuse the public."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Really, i didn't realize Doors fans (or Cult fans for that fact) were that stupid and didn't know Jim was dead:puzzled:

Trying to confuse the public, that's the most outlandish statement i've ever heard. could the parents of Mr Mojo possibly need the money, or maybe just their 15 minutes of fame:puzzled:
Anyways, their lawsuit is bogus, but i guess we'll watch it unfold in court

Scheme me

"Deliberate scheme to enrich themselves" ,.,. I been saying that all along.

*Jim rolls in his grave,..,,. again*

Or,.,.,

Jim and Bruce Lee pull up to the 'Doors' show at the amphitheatre in West Palm Beach (in the back of a dream car 20 foot long),.,., Billy Duffy driving (!!) ,.,. Jim dressed as the Green Hornet, Bruce Lee as Kato,., they kick the flaming bejesus out of old RayRay and Robby,.,.
Billy D plugs into an amp and Ian & the band launches into "Memphis Hip Shake" ,.,.,. and the crowd goes wild.

You can tell I've taken my Xanax today,.,. right kids?!?

Superpuffin - 4-26-2003 at 10:15 AM

It's also the Courson's wanting to have complete control on anything that Jim ever did. There are still tons and tons of Jim's writings, films, etc that Pam's dad is just packratting for no apparent reason.

With all these petty lawsuits being slapped at The Doors (including Ian Astbury), I'm not surprised to hear She Sells Sanctuary on a (recent) Ford commercial.
